Don't wait

Today's Devotion, Don't wait. Don't wait for an earthquake to come before you pray to God because consistent prayer is more powerful than convenient prayer. Many of us only know God whenever catastrophes come, but when things are going our way, we are far from him.

Don't wait until you lose your job to pray to God because you were not giving him thanks when you had it, because you were always complaining about it. An empty wallet can't pay a bill, and an empty fridge can't feed a family. Don't wait to show gratitude to the friends and family who always did their best to help you because a dead body in a coffin isn't going to hear your thank you.

Don't wait until you are going through spiritual warfare before you find your needs. We have developed the habit of sending whatever the enemy has sent to us back to the sender. In 1 Peter 5 verse 7 it is written, cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

This means giving all your worries, heavy burdens and fears to God. Not some of it, all of it. There is no biblical evidence to send any warfare back to the sender.

Why should you return it to the demon that carried it when God has assigned warring angels to protect you? Whatever the enemy is sending to you, give it to God. He will know what to do with it. In Deuteronomy 32 verse 5 it is written, vengeance is mine and recompense.

For the time when their foot shall slip, for the day of their calamity is at hand and their doom comes swiftly. Heavenly Father, lack of knowledge and our inability to exercise patience has misled many not to wait on you. Lord forgive us for the wrong things that we have done because of ignorance.

In Romans 12 verse 19 it is written, do not take revenge my dear friend but leave room for God's wrath. Merciful Father, when we return to sender we are taking matters into our own hands and it shows a lack of trust and your ability to handle justice fairly and correct. In 2 Peter 3 verse 9 it is written, the Lord is not slow in keeping his promise as some understand slowness.

Instead he is patient with you not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance. Man's heart can never be compared to your heart because you make your son to rise on the evil and on the good and send the rain on the just and on the unjust. Lord help us to do the things that please you.

All these we ask in Jesus name, Amen.
