Today's Devotion, Lord, Protect Us From Lying Lips. Be careful of people who are attached to you because of your kindness. They start loving your hand and not your heart. And as soon as you stop stretching your hand to them, they end up hating your entire body.

It is not a mistake when God allows these things to happen to you. It is his way of teaching you how wicked and ungrateful some people can be. The same tongue that tells you thanks today is the same tongue that will slander you tomorrow.

The word yes will increase your friends, but the word no will expose your enemies when you are communicating with these people. A missile can sink a ship, but a lying tongue can destroy friendships and relationships. It can send innocent people to prison, ruin families, cause people to lose their jobs.

It can tarnish someone's reputation. My brothers and sisters in Christ, a lie can spread like wildfire, and there will be times that people will never be able to hear your side of the story. They will try to ruin your life with their lying tongue.

Fight your battles on your knees and do not fight fire with fire. In Psalm 34 verse 13 it is written, Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies. Heavenly Father, help us to control our emotions and our tongues.

Help us to guard our mouth, our heart, and help us to choose our words wisely. Because what we speak we will sow, and what we sow we will reap. Lord, we know that consistent prayer can destroy the plans of the gossipers and slanderers whose aim is to ruin the lives of the righteous.

Mighty God, let the lying lips be put to silence, which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous. I reject every lie, fear, and doubt from the enemy. You are my strong tower and my fortress.

I break and destroy every weapon, trap, and evil tactic formed against my life. Cover me with your armor, fill me with your Holy Spirit, and turn every curse or bad plan into a blessing because you are a miracle-working God. Because what the enemy meant for evil, you can turn it around for good.
