Don't let the devil pull you back into a sinful life

Today's Devotion, Don't let the devil pull you back into a sinful life. I recently went to look about something for a relative of mine. I paid for an express service and on getting the document, I realized that there was an error on it.

The error was made by the company, not me. I asked to speak to the supervisor and after listening to my dilemma, to my surprise, I was told that even though I paid for an express service, I would have to wait for seven days and there was not an apology nor was there any remorse. He didn't care how serious it affected me and it was obvious from his composure.

My brothers and sisters in Christ, God has a way of dealing with ironhearted, inconsiderate and unsympathetic people and he will intervene and resolve it. He is a miracle working God. We cannot say that we are God-fearing people and then we switch to being ungodly when things don't go our way, when we are angry.

Always remember that there is no sin that goes unpunished. We cannot be godly in church but once we step out of church, our attitude changes to the worldly lifestyle and we try to fit into the lifestyle that we came out of. We cannot be committed to God and still keep in touch with the devil.

In Proverbs 6 verse 27 to 28 it is written, Can a man take fire in his bosom and his clothes not be burned? Can one go upon hot coals and his feet not be burned? As believers and someone who is committed to do God's work, we must remember that moral integrity is worth far more than material wealth. In Psalm 1 verse 5 to 6 it is written, Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Heavenly Father, we pray for those who are living a double life. Lord, purify our hearts and help us to remain focused on the road of righteousness because we cannot serve two masters. In Proverbs 10 verse 9 it is written, Whoever walks in integrity walks securely but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.

Lord, help us not to let our emotions or our circumstances take us back to the lifestyle that you have taken us from. Forgive us for the time we have lived a divided life. Give us the strength not to yield to temptation and give us the wisdom to choose the right path because God is light and in him there is no darkness at all.

All these we ask in Jesus name, Amen.
