Today's Devotion, Lord, help us to have the right attitude. There are times we allow our prideful behavior to hinder and also to prevent kind-hearted people from helping us. Someone may be giving you a bag of groceries or school items for your children and because of your ego you reject it instead of accepting it. Not everyone who gives you something has a motive and this may be God's way of sending you a destiny helper because he sees your challenges.
The Holy Spirit didn't just come to be your comforter when you are going through your stress nor your provider when you are in need but to burn up everything that's not of God and pridefulness is one of them. This is why God opposes the proud in Psalm 75 verse 4 it is written to the arrogant I say boast no more and to the wicked do not lift up your horns. Pride doesn't come with promotion it also comes with demotion because if you are too high God has a way of bringing you down.
One of the keys to receiving is swallowing your pride and being obedient to God because when pride and disobedience become friends destruction is walking behind them. My brothers and sisters in Christ an attitude of gratitude will always receive blessings from God and a self-inflated ego will eventually become a deflated ego. Having a good attitude makes you respected by others and your ego can make you alone from others.
In Psalm 139 verse 23 to 24 it is written search me oh God and know my heart try me and know my thoughts and see if there be any grievous way in me and lead me in the way everlasting. Heavenly Father help us to remain humble in everything that we do and let us not belittle others because of their circumstances. In second Corinthians 10 verse 5 it is written we destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God and take every thought captive to obey Christ.
Lord we thank you for moving pridefulness and replacing it with godliness so that we can be obedient to you and not to be distracted by the things of the world.
All these we ask in Jesus name, Amen.
