Lord, take control over our finances

Today's Devotion, Lord, take control over our finances. Financial stress can be overwhelming, and there are times when your bills may be more than your salary, especially when unforeseen challenges come when you least expect it. If you are not disciplined to put your financial priorities into the proper sequence, you may end up adding stress to your stress.

Never place what should be last at first, or put what should be first at last. If you have a problem in putting your priorities in proper sequence, seek God's intervention, because His input can change the output. We serve an on-time God, and God cannot break His promise because God is faithful.

He cannot fail to keep His word. Intimacy with God comes from consistency, and once you do this, you will see changes. You will have to change the life that you are living if you know that it's not pleasing to Him.

Never make a financial decision without getting God's approval. Pray for job security and financial discipline. Do not buy unimportant things to impress insignificant people.

My brothers and sisters in Christ, leave your problems in God's hands, and He will fix your problems. In Ecclesiastes 5 verse 10 it is written, He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver, nor he that loveth abundance with increase. This too is vanity.

And in Psalm 37 verse 4 it is written, Delight thyself also in Jehovah, and he will give thee the desires of thy heart. Heavenly Father, we thank you for your faithfulness. Help those who are in need of financial guidance so that they do not spend their money on the wrong things.

Help those single parents who have bills that are giving them sleepless nights. Please help them to find a way to take care of their expenses because you can make a way where there seems to be no way. Help us to be careful with how we spend our money, and let us think about what we really need instead of buying things that are not necessary.

Lord, help those who are desperately in need of a job to take care of their family. Help us to make choices when we are on the verge of making important decisions. Help us to avoid friends who are irresponsible spenders so that they will not influence us to develop their bad habits.

All these we ask in Jesus' name. Amen.
