Lord, protect those in toxic relationships
Today's Devotion, Lord, protect those in toxic relationships. Never tie what you cannot pull. If a relationship was meant to be, it will be.
And anything that is joined by evil will never last. It is better to move on with your life or move out of a house instead of moving from the bedroom to the bathroom to secretly wipe your tears. God will move you out of places that the devil will try and force you to stay.
It is better to stay with someone who genuinely loves you than to live with someone who conveniently uses you. God isn't blind to your tears and he knows the workers of iniquity who are wolves in sheep clothing, who praise God in the day and worship the devil in the night. Many relationships fail not because people fall out of love, they fail because someone starts to show their true colors.
Seeing someone and living with someone may show you two different persons. You may have to hide your true feelings to avoid an argument. Your needs, goals and boundaries are ignored but their needs must be your priority.
Every morning you wake up, it's as if you are walking on eggshells because you don't want to start an argument. Many relationships fail because we did not seek God's approval. People will win your heart with kindness but once you are in a relationship that is when you will see their wickedness.
They will cut you off from your friends and family. They will blame you for every problem that happens in the relationship. They ignore your honesty and cover it with their lies.
In Proverbs 13 verse 20 it is written, Do not make friends with a hot-tempered person. Do not associate with one easily angered. My brothers and sisters in Christ, do not ignore the signs of a toxic person no matter how much you love them because they will bring shame and disgrace into your life.
Heavenly Father, we pray for those who made the wrong choices and now they are dealing with the consequences. In Proverbs 4 verse 14 to 15 it is written, Do not set foot on the path of the wicked or walk in the way of evildoers. Avoid it.
Do not travel on it. Turn from it and go on your way. Lord help those who are exhausted and hurting.
You see the confusion, manipulation and the pain that they wake up to every morning. Give them the courage to set firm boundaries and protect them with the blood of Jesus from the partners who are abusive. God, you can make a way where there seems to be no way.
Release those who are suffering from these relationships and do whatever you see best to destroy the spirit of manipulation and save those who are suffering.
All these we ask in Jesus name, Amen.
