God's word is more powerful than man's word
Today's Devotion, God's word is more powerful than man's word. God helps those who help themselves is not in the Bible. God does help the helpless.
In 1 Timothy 4 verse 7 it is written, Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives' tales. Rather, train yourself to be godly. Money is the root of all evil is not in the Bible.
What is in the Bible is the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. In 1 Timothy 6 verse 10 it is written, For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. Cleanliness is next to godliness is not in the Bible.
While keeping yourself clean is a good thing, Jesus warned about cleaning the outside of the cup while the inside is still dirty. In Luke 11 verse 39 it is written, Then the Lord said to him, Now you Pharisees make the outside of the cup and dish clean, but your inward part is full of greed and wickedness. God works in mysterious ways is not in the Bible.
We serve a miracle working God who specializes in doing the impossible. In Deuteronomy 29 verse 29 it is written, The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law. It is very important that when we pray we must ensure that we use God's words in our prayers.
In Isaiah 55 verse 11 it is written, So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth, it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. God never wastes his words and this is why we must know his words. What purpose does it serve to sing the song I have decided to follow Jesus? When we are going places Jesus wouldn't go, and doing things Jesus wouldn't do, and to make a bad situation worse.
Our actions and our words are not on the same page. Heavenly Father, we pray for our children who are distracted by social media and also by the ungodly and vulgar songs that are played on our public transport. Songs that glorify killing and sexual immorality.
Songs that make the things that are wrong seem right. We then wonder why our children are going astray because of the killings that are happening in our schools. God's words that can save them are put on the back burner and the devil's words that can destroy them are played daily on our roads.
Lord, help us to know your words so that you can save our soul. All these we ask in Jesus name, Amen.
