Today's Devotion, Parents be careful of what you say to your children. On several occasions I have heard some parents speaking harsh words and ill wishes out of anger over their children, and they don't have a clue that their lack of knowledge can become open doors for negative spiritual influence on their children. Parents, if your child is forgetful, stop telling them that they are going to have dementia like their grandmother or their grandfather.
Dementia is a sickness that causes loss of memory, language, problem-solving and overthinking abilities that are severe enough to interfere with daily life. Your mouth can literally block all that God has for you, and when you take out your anger on your children, the things that you speak over their life may end up being their reality. Do not give anger access to harm your children because of your words.
It may open doors to shame and disgrace. When we allow ourselves to be influenced by our anger, we are getting closer to the devil and further away from God. My brothers and sisters in Christ, do not allow the devil to control your emotions because the end result will lead to destruction.
In Proverbs 19 verse 11 it is written, A person's wisdom yields patience. It is to one's glory to overlook an offense. When we manage our anger well, the fruit of the Spirit is seen within us.
Heavenly Father, help us to practice self-control and relying on the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Lord, the murder rate in our island is increasing and some people are resorting to killing and not praying or forgiving. In Psalm 37 verse 8 it is written, Refrain from anger and forsake wrath.
Threaten not yourself, it tends only to evil. Lord, help us not to be influenced by negative-minded people, to do wrong, because doing wrong will never give us the right result. We thank you Lord for taking away our anger and fill us with your peace.
Lord, seal the lips of the parents who are about to speak negativity over the lives of their children because of anger and help us to turn to you and not to be influenced by our emotions.
All these we ask in Jesus' name, Amen.
