Today's Devotion, Leave it in God's hands. There's a reason why God tells us that we should leave vengeance to him. God doesn't need our advice, all he needs is our obedience.
There are some people who love to instigate war, but whenever they are to forgive and let bygones be bygones, they will not be a part of it. Forgive and forget is not a part of their plan, and what under the bridge is not a part of their characteristics. If money could talk, it would have sent many people to prison, because blood money is payment to kill, and that is a plan of the devil.
God will deal with a person who has been evil to you. Unfortunately, there are people who cannot wait on God, so they end up going to the devil. Loving your enemies means refusing to take revenge even when people are trying to influence you to do it.
Praying for them and leaving justice to God is what he wants us to do. Eagles don't wrestle snakes on the ground, and prayer warriors fight their battles on their knees. There are times that we may have to walk away from people who want to draw us away from God.
Always remember that bad advice doesn't come with good consequences. Proverbs 20 verse 22 it is written, Do not say, I'll pay you back for this wrong. Wait for the Lord, and he will avenge.
And in Psalm 94 verse 1 it is written, The Lord is a God who avenges, O God who avenges, shine forth. Heavenly Father, we pray for those who are on the verge of making a bad choice by going to the devil to take the life of someone who has done them wrong. In Ephesians 4 verse 26 it is written, Be angry and do not sin.
Do not let the sun go down on your wrath. Lord, in moments of anger or hurt, we call upon you to change the mind of someone who wants to repay wrong with wrong. I ask you for supernatural strength to help them to resist the temptation to take matters into their own hands.
Guard our heart and mind against resentment, anger, and the desire of revenge. All these we ask in Jesus name, Amen.
