Surrender to God

Today's Devotion, Surrender to God. Once we surrender to God, we must let go of our burdens and trust Him completely. Without the test, we will never have a testimony. And once we entertain doubt, we will always be lacking in faith.

Surrendering to God means that we should depend fully on Him. Obedience is better than sacrifice. We cannot chase the world and follow Jesus too.

We cannot enjoy sin and expect to receive His blessing. When we surrender to God, we must walk away from everything that we know that isn't pleasing to Him. Not some things, everything.

We surrender to God so that He can move through us and into the world around us by our words, our actions, and our deeds. When we allow God to work through us, He will do things that we would never be able to do by ourselves. Surrendering to God gives you peace of mind and it removes the emotional burdens that we carry around us every day.

In John 14 verse 27 it is written, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Surrendering to God will let you enjoy His protection from the forces of darkness and those who are focused on trying to destroy your life.

In Proverbs 3 verse 26 it is written, For the Lord shall be thy confidence and shall keep thy foot from being taken. God will put a hedge of protection around His people. My brothers and sisters in Christ, when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.

Those who surrender their lives to God will be free from worrying about the future. In Philippians 4 verse 19 it is written, But my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Heavenly Father, open our eyes to the spiritual benefits that come when we surrender our lives to you.

Lord, for those who have made this commitment will receive salvation and eternal life. Remove the small sins that are hindering us from the blessings that you have for us. In Psalm 17 verse 6 it is written, I call on you, my God, for you will answer me, turn your ear to me, and hear my prayer.

Thank you, Lord, for removing the distractions that are preventing us from surrendering to you because only believers living surrendered lives will get to enjoy the great benefits that you have and our prayers will be answered so that we can influence others to do the same.

All these we ask in Jesus' name, Amen.
