Never be too busy for God

Today's Devotion, Never be too busy for God. The devil has a way of distracting us when he can tempt us. He will make you busy.

Distraction comes in many forms and it can change our priorities. It may be pulling you away from God to rearrange your priority list. Busyness can be a sin.

It depends on what you are busy doing. God isn't calling us to busyness. He's calling us to his purposes and priorities.

You may not find time to pray, yet you are busy being on the internet every day. You have no time for church, yet you find time for the things that you enjoy doing. You may not have time to read the Bible, but you are always finding time to read the newspaper.

God has ways that he will use to get our undivided attention. He can use individual challenges or he can use catastrophes to get everyone's attention. Catastrophes have a way of changing our things to do list and it has a way of putting God at the top of our priority list.

My brothers and sisters in Christ, always ensure that we are busy doing things that will add to our blessing and not doing things that will block our blessing. Once you are too busy for God, you are in for a rude awakening. In Colossians 3 verse 23 to 24, it is written, Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart as working for the Lord, not for human masses.

Since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward, it is the Lord Christ you are serving. And in Ephesians 2 verse 10 it is written, For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Heavenly Father, we thank you for life and we are asking you for forgiveness when we don't find time for you because we are focused on the wrong things.

Lord, help us to arrange our priorities so that you will always be at the top of our list and remove every distraction that is pulling us away from you. Let us not lean on our own understanding so that we will always be guided by you in everything that we do.

All these we ask in Jesus name, Amen.
