Today's Devotion, Lord, help us to value our time. Once you feed your mind with inspiration, you will never have room for gossip. Inspiration can let you focus on the things that you want to achieve, but gossip will tear you down in ways that you will never believe.
One of the things that I have gotten into the habit of doing is to listen more than I speak. Open ears can let you hear things that a running mouth can prevent you from hearing. Hard work leads to profit and gain, while mere talk or idle chatter only results in poverty or lack of achieving things because your priorities were not arranged properly.
Encouragement can give you things that discouragement can prevent you from getting. Avoid being around people whose agenda is to waste your time because wasted time cannot be replaced. In Psalm 39 verse 4 to 5 it is written, Lord remind me how brief my time on earth will be.
Remind me that my days are numbered, how fleeting my life is. You have made my life no longer than the weight of my hand. My entire lifetime is just a moment to you at best.
Each of us is but a breath. My brothers and sisters in Christ, gossipers are time wasters and engaging in listening to gossip wastes valuable time. Once you realize that the conversation is going down the wrong road, find a way to end it.
Gossipers knows what he said, she said, and they said, but they cannot tell you what God said. In Ephesians 5 verse 15 to 17 it is written, So be very careful how you live. Do not live like those who are not wise, but live wisely.
Use every chance you have for doing good, because these are evil times. So do not be foolish, but learn what the Lord wants you to do. The person who values time will not waste it, and the persons who love gossip will always spread it.
Heavenly Father, wasted time can lead to wasted years, and we call upon you to remove the spirit of procrastination from us. Lord I pray for those who have invested time in doing things, but it didn't work in their favor. Oh God, arise and restore to them the years that the locust has eaten.
The years that they have lost the stagnation, poor decisions, and enemy attacks in Jesus' name. Lord, remove the time wasters from us and grant us divine acceleration to make up for lost time in Jesus' name. Thank you Lord for recovering all our wasted opportunities, missed chances, and stolen blessings that the enemy has deprived us of.
All these we ask in Jesus' name, Amen.
