Today's Devotion Lord, thank you for removing our burdens. Stop making decisions without God's approval and then complaining when things don't go your way. If you see your situation too small to be turned into a prayer, it is too small to be made into a burden.
In 1 Peter 5 verse 7 it is written, Casting all your care upon him, for he careth for you. The word all emphasizes that no burden is too big or small for God to handle. God is attentive to your needs and is able to manage what is out of your control.
One of the worst things that you can do is to take your burden to the wrong people because they may not only keep reminding you of it, you may be obligated to them for the rest of your life. If we focus on our burden, it can put us in a frame of mind to become depressed. A ton of feather may appear to be more challenging to carry than a ton of lead, even though the weight remains the same.
It's not the load that brings you down, it's the way you carry it. Many people have allowed their burden to lead to depression because they hold on to it. Never let your burden be the source of your destruction.
Let it go through prayer instead of holding on to it because of pride. In Psalm 73 verse 26 it is written, My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. My brothers and sisters in Christ, we can trust that God is ready and willing to deliver us from our burdens.
All we need to do is to submit our lives to him. In Psalm 81 verse 6 it is written, I relieved his shoulder of the burden. His hands were freed from the basket.
Heavenly Father, you said in your word, Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present our requests to you. Lord, help those who are adding to their stress by holding on to their burdens. Lord, we know that there will be times that you will have to show tough love in order for us to let go of our burdens.
Lord, we thank you for removing the spirit of stubbornness and pride so that you can remove all the burdens that we have hidden.
All these we ask, in Jesus' name, Amen.
