Today's Devotion, The wrong things will never give you the right results. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink. You can show a person the truth but you can't make them accept it.
The devil doesn't need to force the door open, all he needs to do is to deceive you with words. Sometimes taking the wrong advice can send you to an early grave. Years ago someone who I knew went overseas and he got a job in a supermarket.
One of his uncles saw him and told him that he could make him receive 4 times what he was making there. Even though he was fully aware what he was getting involved in, he decided to take the risk. He wasn't thinking about the risk, he was more focused on making the money to send to his girlfriend who was pregnant.
He ended up being killed and he never lived to see his son. The same mouth that encourages you is the same mouth that can lead you to your grave. Let your mouth bring life, not destruction, because desperation has a way of leading you to do the wrong thing.
In James 3 verse 6 it is written, The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one's life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. My brothers and sisters in Christ, the mouth of the righteous doesn't discourage you, it encourages you in doing godly things.
In Proverbs 10 verse 11 it is written, The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence. Heavenly Father, we know that death and life are in the power of the tongue, and there will be times we may end up making the wrong choices by going around the wrong people. Lord, uproot every evil counsel that is planted in our minds that looks good on the outside but is destructive on the inside.
Send your warring angels to destroy the plans of the enemy and protect us from making choices that are ungodly. Thank you Lord for destroying every monitoring devices and hide us from the plans of the enemy.
All these we ask in Jesus name, Amen.
