Today's Devotion, Lord, help those in painful relationships. In life, some of us will encounter people who will love you to the point where they may end up getting obsessed with you. No matter how hard you try, there will be no chemistry between you and them.
And if you ever try and cross the line and start a relationship, it will never work. The fact that there is no chemistry, the relationship will eventually become a catastrophe. You cannot join evil with good and expect to live happily ever after.
You will never see eye to eye with them. You will never be on the same page with them because you are both reading from two different books. One-sided relationships will never have two people being happy.
I recently saw a video of a man who caught his partner with someone else. It was evident that they were not living together. He went on the roof and used a knife to bore holes into the side of the water tank.
He went into the house and destroyed everything that he bought for her. And he removed the things that he gave to her. Some relationships can only be resolved by walking away.
In Proverbs 14 verse 17 it is written, People with a hot temper do foolish things. Wiser people remain calm. And in 2 Timothy 2 verse 23 to 25 it is written, But keep away from foolish and ignorant arguments.
You know that they end up in quarrels. As the Lord's servant, you must not quarrel. You must be kind toward all.
A good and patient teacher who is gentle as you correct your opponents. For it may be that God will give them the opportunity to repent and come to know the truth. Heavenly Father, Many times decisions are made without your approval and we end up dealing with the consequences.
Lord, you said in your word, He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty. And he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city. Lord, help those who are experiencing physical and verbal abuses because of the choices that they have made.
We are in need of your immediate attention. And we are asking you Lord to take full control of the situation so that it may be resolved the way that you see best.
All these we ask in Jesus name. Amen.
