Be careful of who you sit with

Today's Devotion, Be careful of who you sit with. The older you get the more you will understand and value the importance of inner peace. Not everyone deserves a seat at the table of your life because they are not capable of bringing joy and upliftment to the table.

The only thing that they can bring to the table is contention, disunity, and their malicious behavior. People like these will let you lose your appetite once you allow them to sit at your table. One of the best decisions you can make is to sit at the table with people who add to your peace, your growth, and your purpose.

Even though Jesus knew that Judas was going to betray him, he allowed him to sit at the table to teach us a very important lesson, be careful of who you sit with. The price of your character can be seriously affected by the people who you allow to sit at your table. If you invite liars and thieves to sit at your table, people will judge you wrongfully, birds of a feather flock together, and eagles and vultures will never see eye to eye.

Sitting alone and enjoying your own company is better than being around the wrong people. In Proverbs 25 verse 26 it is written, Like a muddied spring or a polluted well are the righteous who give way to the wicked. And in Psalm 1 verse 1 it is written, Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers.

My brothers and sisters in Christ, allow God to make all your choices because you will never regret the outcome. In 1 John 3 verse 18 it is written, Dear children, let us not love with words or speech, but with actions and in truth. Heavenly Father, we pray for those who are on the verge of making decisions.

Lord, give them the wisdom so that they will put it in your hands. In Proverbs 15 verse 18 it is written, A hot-tempered man stirs up decisions, but a patient man calms a quarrel. Lord, you will put us on the straight path and remove every distraction that lies in our way.

Thank you, Lord, for ordering our steps so that we will not stumble.

All these we ask in Jesus' name, Amen.
