Transformation sometimes comes with humiliation

Today's Devotion, Transformation sometimes comes with humiliation. A couple of weeks ago I got a call from a friend of mine. He told me that whatever challenges that I am going through, God told him to tell me that it was because I am elevated to a higher level.

For several months I have been experiencing a temporary loss of memory and because of this I recently went through a humiliating experience and it wasn't until I shared my situation with a friend of mine that I understood why it was happening. This was her comment, I won't say I am sorry then because you are going through transitioning. Even though transitioning and transformation are not the same, both involve moving from one state to another and this is what I am going through.

Transformation sometimes comes with humiliation. Are you prepared to deal with humiliation to show how deeply you are willing to serve God? Jesus had to go through humiliation and embarrassment for us. There are some who would prefer riding on the donkey and receive the massive fanfare he received as people laid their clothes on the ground before him.

But the committed believers are few. They are the ones who would bear the weight of the cross and receive the disrespect, being spat on and being ridiculed. Many spiritual transition teaches us to let go of pride and self-importance.

In Mark 10 verse 34 it is written, And they will mock him and spit on him and flog him and kill him and after three days he will rise. God will humble you in order to elevate you for the challenge ahead. Before the devil pulls you down to do things his way, remember God allowed Jesus to be crucified on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins.

It wasn't for us to continue living in sin. Heavenly Father, in 1 John 3 verse 8 it is written, Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.

Lord, we cannot enjoy sin and expect to enjoy the benefit of eternal life. In 1 Corinthians 1 verse 18 it is written, For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved. It is the power of God.

Lord, tomorrow is not promised to any of us and we call upon you to help us to live every day as if it is our last, so that we will live a righteous life in order to receive an eternal life.

All these we ask in Jesus name, Amen.
