Let Go and Let God

Today's Devotion, Let Go and Let God. Walking is good exercise and walking away from the things that add to your stress and contribute to your unhappiness may be the best decision of your life. Sometimes you will have to let go and let God handle your problems. You cannot let your heart make decisions for your brain because the heart may influence you to stay in a toxic relationship, but your brain will tell you to get out of it.

We sometimes want to resolve our problems by ourselves because God may seem to be taking too long to resolve it. Always remember that the time that we wait is actually a test of our faith. There is a big difference when we make decisions for ourselves instead of God making it for us.

We may end up holding on to friendships that we should let go of. Bad company can ruin your reputation and add to your frustration. Your stubbornness can contribute to your own destruction all because you do not want to let go.

We need to learn to let go. Letting go does not mean that we give up. A wise man will hold on to his faith in God when he is going through his storm, but a desperate man will hold on to a straw when he is drowning.

Once you surrender your life to God, you must stop doing things your way and leave it to God to do things His way. We cannot change the past, but God can change our future. In Colossians 3 verse 13 it is written, Bear with each other and forgive one another.

If any of you has a grievance against someone, forgive as the Lord forgave you. You cannot hold on to your past once we let go and let God. In 1 Timothy verse 6 to 11 it is written, But you, man of God, flee from all this and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness.

God's thoughts are different from ours. In Psalm 139 verse 17 to 18 it is written, How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. Where I awake, I am still with you, Heavenly Father.

In order for us to let go, we must be committed to surrender all to you. Lord, help us to release our worries, anxieties, fears, and hurts. Asking you to take them and heal us so that the thoughts that we have today will not be the thoughts that we will have tomorrow. Because we let go of our worldly desires and refuse from removing them from our minds.

All these we ask in Jesus name, Amen.
