God knows how to silence a lying tongue

Today's Devotion, God knows how to silence a lying tongue. When a lying tongue is accompanied by crocodile tears, the innocent may appear to be guilty. Lies can close doors that apologies can't open.

Be careful how you treat people who you think you don't need, because the person who you tell a lie on today may be the person who you need help from tomorrow. Lying is a sin that can destroy not just someone's life, but their reputation and their trust in you. Lying is making a promise that you know you will never keep.

Lying is leaving out information to manipulate a situation. If you keep telling your children lies, don't be surprised when your children become liars when they start doing the same thing to others. When a goat kid grows up seeing the mother goat eating fish, they will never eat grass.

If you really want to know the liars that are close to you, ask God to expose them. Some people will lie to you because the truth might provoke you to make choices that won't serve their interests. My brothers and sisters in Christ, people will tell lies on your children all because of jealousy.

Once they cannot manipulate you, lying lips will rise up against you. God is not deaf and He isn't blind to your situation. In Psalm 109 verse 1 to 7 it is written, My God, whom I praise, do not remain silent, for people who are wicked and deceitful have opened their mouths against me.

They have spoken against me with lying tongues. With words of hatred they surround me. They attack me without cause in return for my friendship.

They accuse me, but I am a man of prayer. They repay me evil for good and hatred for my friendship. Appoint someone evil to oppose my enemy.

Let an accuser stand at his right hand. When he is tried, let him be found guilty and may his prayers condemn him. Heavenly Father, we call upon you to protect us from lying tongues, the ones that are in our family whose aim is to create division, the ones who are in our workplace and our business whose aim is to prevent us from being promoted and those whose aim is to sabotage our business, the ones who say that they are our friends but they use false accusations against us because of jealousy in order to stop our success and destroy our livelihood, the ones who have taken our names to an evil altar.

May these altars catch fire in Jesus' name so that their evil deeds will fall on their own head. Lord, in Ezekiel 3 verse 26-27 you said in your word, I will make your tongue cling to the roof of your mouth so that you shall be mute and not be one to rebuke them for they are a rebellious host. But when I speak with you, I will open your mouth and you shall say to them, Thus says the Lord your God.

My brothers and sisters in Christ, keep this prayer and silence the tongue of the wicked.

All these I ask in Jesus' name, Amen.
