Lord, give us the strength to continue doing good
Today's Devotion, Lord, give us the strength to continue doing good. Good people don't always get good treatment. Jesus did so much good, yet he was given a horrendous death.
Good people are not exempted from problems, trials, and tribulations. Be careful of how you treat a good person because people don't notice the things that they do for them until they stop doing it. Good people don't do things publicly to get the attention of others, and they will never try to look good, trying to make someone else look bad.
Ungrateful people love to be around good people because the greatest kindness will not bind the ungrateful. A grateful dog is better than an ungrateful man. God speaks about the benefit of doing good, and he also speaks about the consequence of being ungrateful, because a complaining tongue reveals what is in an ungrateful heart.
I know what it is to be around good people, and I know what it is to be around ungrateful people. My brothers and sisters in Christ, never be influenced by an ungrateful person to take advantage of a good person, because God's wrath will fall upon those who take advice from the wicked. In Proverbs 29 verse 7 it is written, A righteous man knows the rights of the poor.
A wicked man does not understand such things. And in Matthew 25 verse 44 it is written, They also will answer, Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or needing clothes, or sick, or in prison, and did not help you? He will reply, Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do it for me. Heavenly Father, we pray for those who are kindhearted, and we pray for those who are ungrateful.
In Matthew 5 verse 16 it is written, In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds, and glorify your Father in heaven. Lord help us to be grateful for things that we receive, no matter how small it may be. In 1 Thessalonians 5 verse 16 to 18 it is written, Always be joyful continually, be prayerful in everything, be thankful, because this is God's will for you in the Messiah Jesus.
Lord cleanse the heart of the ungrateful, and those who love grumbling and complaining. The ungrateful will never receive your blessings, nor will they walk through the gates of heaven, if they do not repent and change their selfish lifestyle. Lord give the strength to those who are kindhearted, who are taken for granted, and give them the discernment to avoid the ungrateful, who are set in their ways.
All these we ask, in Jesus name, Amen.
