Beware of Inconsistency

Today's devotion, Beware of Inconsistency. Consistency can lead you to a bridge, but it's inconsistency that will prevent you from crossing it. Many people have lost friends because of inconsistency, and there are some people who have lost their jobs because, even though they were good workers, their inconsistent attitude caused them to lose it.
If Noah was inconsistent, it is possible that he may not have completed the ark on time. Never give an inconsistent person a job that requires consistency, because if someone is consistently inconsistent, they will consistently disappoint you. My brothers and sisters in Christ, we must develop the habit of practicing what we preach.
Do not say things that you know you will never do, all because you love to get the attention of others. In Matthew 23 verse 3 it is written, So you must be careful to do everything they tell you, but do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. Double-mindedness is caused by spiritual blindness.
In James 1 verse 8 it is written, A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. A double-minded person tries to hold on to both worldly desires and faith in God, but their loyalties are divided. We cannot be inconsistent in our actions and act as if we are consistent in our words.
In Romans 2 verse 21 to 23 it is written, You therefore who teach another, do you not teach yourself? You who preach that one should not steal, do you steal? You who say that one should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? You who boast in the law through your breaking the law, do you dishonor God? Heavenly Father, we come before you thanking you for wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Forgive us for the times that we were inconsistent in our actions. Grant us discipline and wisdom to follow your words and not our emotions.
Strengthen our focus and remove the distractions that can lead us to sin. Lord, help us to overcome our weakness and give us the strength to overcome temptation.
All these we ask in Jesus name, Amen.
