Today's Devotion, We Serve a Jealous God. There will come a time when your tears will fall, not because of your troubles, but because God has answered your prayers. There's a big difference between being spiritually fit and being physically fit. Physical exercise strengthens the body, and spiritual fitness builds resilience, peace, and clarity.
Prayer is an important part of spiritual fitness because it opens our eyes to mindfulness, integrity, and the importance of building a relationship with God. The strongest people are not found in the gym lifting weights. They are found on their knees, lifting their faith to overcome their challenges.
In everything that we do, never put anything above He opens our eyes in the morning and closes them at night. We sometimes put more emphasis on eating right and ignore putting emphasis on living right. Always remember, thus we are and thus we will return.
We should ensure that our soul is right with God. Always do your best to balance your spiritual fitness and your physical fitness, because we serve a jealous God. 1 Corinthians 6 verse 19 Do you not know that your body is a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, and in Deuteronomy 4 verse 23 to 24 it is written, So watch yourselves, that you do not forget the covenant of the Lord your God, which he made with you.
And make for yourselves a graven image in the form of anything against which the Lord your God has commanded you. For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God. Heavenly Father, help us not to be so focused on the things around us that we have neglected you, because the beginning of wisdom is the fear of God.
2 Nahum 1 verse 2 It is written, The Lord is a jealous and avenging God, the Lord is avenging and wrathful, the Lord takes vengeance on his adversaries and keeps wrath for his enemies. Merciful Father, help us not to yield to temptation and keep us away from anything that will lead us to live a sinful life. Forgive us and help us to think before we act, and prevent us from putting worldly things before you, because one minute of your anger can cause years of regret.
Thank you, Lord, for standing on your word and preventing us from yielding to temptation.
All these we ask in Jesus' name, Amen.
