Stop

Today's Devotion, Stop. Stop giving access to people who God has told you to avoid. Stop entertaining people who are draining your finances because the only thing that they can give you is their sad stories.

Stop telling lies because your lie will one day become your reality. Years ago, before I gave my life to God, someone asked me to do something and I told the person that I had a puncture. I did this because the person was an opportunist.

When I went outside, my back tire was flat and the spear was flat as well. Stop manipulating people who you are given the responsibility of unifying. You cannot be responsible for teaching God's people with his word, but you are using his word to fill your pocket and build your mansion.

Prosperity preaching tells you what you can achieve. It doesn't tell you what you have to give up. It doesn't tell you about the trials and tribulations that you are going to face.

It tells you about the financial gains and there are certain scriptures that they will avoid. In Mark 10 verse 21, it is written, go sell everything you have and give to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven. My brothers and sisters in Christ, stop breaking promises that you have made to others, but you expect God to answer your prayer.

In James 5 verse 12, it is written, above all my brothers do not swear, not by heaven or earth or by any other oath. Simply let your yes be yes and your no, no so that you will not fall under judgment. Heavenly Father, help us to stop and think about the things we say and the decisions that we make daily.

Is it accepted by you or is it not? Lord, help us not to say things to get attention from others. In Proverbs 25 verse 14, it is written, like clouds and wind without rain is the man who boasts of gifts never given. Lord, lack of knowledge has caused us to suffer because we do not stop and think, calling in and saying that we are sick because we have personal business to take care of.

We are unknowingly calling sickness to come into our lives because we did not stop and think before we opened our mouth. Help us, Lord, to stop and seek your guidance so that we do not make mistakes and we will do the things that are pleasing to you.
