Do not take advantage of others

Today's Devotion, Do not take advantage of others. Have you ever been in a situation and you feel as if you are abandoned by God? He has not abandoned you.

He may be testing your faith. Always remember that you cannot have a testimony if you aren't given a test. In Psalm 82 verse 1 to 4 it is written, God standeth in the congregation of the mighty.

He judgeth among the gods. How long will he judge unjustly and accept the persons of the wicked, Selah? Defend the poor and fatherless. Do justice to the afflicted and needy.

Deliver the poor and needy. Rid them out of the hand of the wicked. My brothers and sisters in Christ, I know what it is like to be used and taken advantage of people.

Beware of those who take advantage of the less fortunate. God will deal with them at the right time. In Proverbs 14 verse 21 and 31 it is written, It is a sin to despise one's neighbor, but blessed is the one who is kind to the needy, who oppresses the poor, shows contempt to their maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.

Heavenly Father, we call upon you to expose the ungodly and greedy people who seek those who are unable to make two ends meet. Their aim is to manipulate them, not to elevate them. In Proverbs 31 verse 8 to 9 it is written, Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.

Speak up and judge fairly. Defend the rights of the poor and needy. Lord, teach us not to take advantage of the needy, so that we do not overwork them and underpay them.

Forgive us where we have turned a blind eye to the exploitation of the poor. Break every system, habit, or desire that profits off the weakness of others. Grant wisdom, courage, and the heart of compassion to stand up for those who are vulnerable.

Defend the helpless, O God, and let justice fall upon them like rain.

All these we ask in Jesus' name, Amen.
