Avoid the things that God doesn't approve

Today's Devotion, Avoid the things that God doesn't approve. We cannot love doing evil and expect that God is going to love us. In Proverbs 8 verse 13 it is written, The fear of the Lord is to hate evil, pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way and the froward mouth do I hate.

We cannot take pleasure in sabotaging someone's character and find joy in their emotional pain and embarrassment, because life has a way of turning the table when you least expect it. In James 3 verse 16 it is written, For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. My brothers and sisters in Christ, Do not befriend people who will go to the extreme in destroying the lives of others.

They do not have an attitude of gratitude because their aim is to separate and manipulate. Disconnecting from certain people can bless your life because staying around them can wreck your life. Never compromise your values to please other people because in pleasing them you may unknowingly be displeasing God.

In Deuteronomy 7 verse 3 to 4 it is written, Nor shall you make marriages with them. You shall not give your daughter to their son, nor take your daughter for your son. For they will turn your sons away from following me to serve other gods.

So the anger of the Lord will be aroused against you and destroy you suddenly. Heavenly Father, help us to make the right choices so that we will not associate with those who will try to pull us away from you instead of those who will draw us closer to you. In Deuteronomy 8 verse 19 it is written, Then it shall be, If you by any means forget the Lord your God and follow other gods and serve them and worship them, I testify against you this day that you shall surely perish.

Lord, expose and remove anyone whose aim is to destroy our relationship with you and guide us towards genuine God-fearing people who will encourage us so that we will stay on the right path.

All these we ask in Jesus' name, Amen.
