When in doubt, ask God for signs

Today's Devotion. When in doubt, ask God for signs. When God tells you to do something and you want to be sure that it's Him speaking to you, there is nothing wrong if you ask Him for a sign.
You may get confirmation in different ways. It may come from a friend or even a stranger that tells you the exact thing that He told you to do, or you may open a book or the newspaper and see what He told you about in an article, or you may hear someone speaking about it on the radio. I have experienced my confirmations in many ways, and my main reason for seeking confirmation is because the devil will put things in your mind or send false prophets to deceive you in order to mislead you.
Not everyone who is using God's name is doing God's work, and if you do not get a confirmation, it is not coming from Him. But when you get a confirmation, you must do what you are told to do. Sometimes God will ask you to throw away the very thing that you want most.
This is a test of your faith. If you trust Him and pass the test, at some point He will either give it back to you or bring something better into your life. In James 1 verse 2 to 4 it is written, Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness, and let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
My brothers and sisters in Christ, God doesn't just allow difficult seasons. He uses them to shape you, to teach you, and to make you grow in ways that comfort never could. Heavenly Father, you sometimes put us through tests for us to have testimonies of your goodness and your grace.
When we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, you are there with us, the same way you were there with Daniel in the lion's den. Lord, testing our faith gives us perseverance and steadfastness. In our moment of weakness, you are our strength, and we thank you for your guidance when we are about to give up.
Lord, we thank you for the wisdom and the discernment, especially when you send us signs so that we will not be deceived or misled by the enemy.
All these we ask in Jesus name, Amen.
