Disobedience can cause setbacks

Today's Devotion, Disobedience can cause setbacks. There are people and places that God will remove you from. Do not go back.

Reopening doors that God has removed can lead to your setback. You can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make him drink. Rejoining relationships that he took you away from can reopen pain that you thought were healed.

God closed those doors for a purpose. He will isolate you to protect you, because if the doors were not closed, it would distract you. Trust God even though you may not understand what he is doing.

God parted the Red Sea to rescue the Israelites from the pursuing Egyptian army and to demonstrate his absolute power. If you focus on the obstacle, you will be distracted on the power of God. In Proverbs 3 verse 5 to 6 it is written, Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your path straight. Wisdom will guide your steps when your emotions will try to pull you backward. While the devil is planning a setback to stagnate you from going forward, God is in control.

For every setback God has a major combat. In Proverbs 24 verse 16 it is written, For the righteous falls seven times and rises again, but the wicked stumble in times of calamity. Heavenly Father, help us to be spiritually disciplined so that we do not follow our emotions and return to places or people that you have removed us from.

In Deuteronomy 28 verse 13 it is written, The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I will give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom. Lord, I come before you today lifting up every area of my life that has been hindered by setbacks, delays, and disappointments.

I rebuke every force working against my progress and declare that no more setbacks will hold me back. In Jesus name. Thank you, miracle working God, for turning my setbacks into setups for greater blessings because I trust in your perfect timing.

All these we ask in Jesus name, Amen.
