Lord, help those who have dementia

Today's devotion, Lord, help those who have dementia. Dementia is a sickness that causes loss of memory, disorientation of time, place or people, changes in mood and behavior, problem solving and other thinking abilities that are severe enough to interfere with daily life. Did you know that loose talk can unknowingly impose generational curses on others? Words like, you can't remember anything, you're going to be as forgetful as your grandmother and your grandfather, are curses that we send daily by loose talk.

Loose talk can be as dangerous as an evil person putting a curse on you. It can unintentionally send sickness and other challenges into the lives of others. As small as the tongue is, it can send a curse that is packaged as a joke.

The same tongue that promotes you is the same tongue that can demote you. Our tongues can be the most difficult thing to control and those who are ignorant will never know that there is a consequence. In Proverbs 4 verse 24 it is written, keep your mouth free from perversity, keep corrupt talk far from your lips.

My brothers and sisters in Christ, nothing can prevent God from healing those who have dementia. In Romans 8 verse 38 to 39 it is written, for I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height or depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Heavenly Father, we pray for those who are suffering from dementia and we pray for you to give tolerance to the caretakers who are responsible for taking care of them.

Gracious God, even though those who are sick walk through the valley of the shadow of death, they will fear no evil for you are with them. Your rod and your staff, they comfort them. You are the great physician and you specialize in doing the impossible.

Lord, we know that the tongue is not the only cause of it, but we know that it can contribute to it. Lord, we destroy every generational curse that is contaminating the bloodline of those who have it.
