Beware of Distractions

Today's Devotion, Beware of Distractions. Distractions come in many forms. It can let you lose focus. If the devil cannot deceive you, he will distract you.

Distractions can cause division. It can disconnect you from people who are important in your life. The enemy has ways of using distractions in your life to prevent you from getting closer in order to hinder you from doing his work.

Do not let the noise of the world keep you from hearing the voice of the Lord. You will never reach your destination if you keep giving your undivided attention to your distraction. An addiction to your distraction is the easiest way that the devil will use to lead you to your distraction.

In Proverbs 4 verse 14 to 15 it is written, Do not enter the path of the wicked, and do not walk in the way of evil. Avoid it, do not go on it, turn away from it, and pass on. The devil will not distract you with your strength, he will distract you with your weakness.

You cannot be tempted by the things that don't get your attention. In Isaiah 30 verse 21 it is written, Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying, This is the way, walk in it. My brothers and sisters in Christ, Delilah was a major distraction and the ultimate cause of Samson's downfall.

Be aware when your distractions come your way. It will cause you to stop doing what you are to do. You cannot do big things if you are distracted by small things.

Heavenly Father, in Proverbs 4 verse 25 to 27 it is written, Let your eyes look directly forward and your gaze be straight before you. Ponder the path of your feet, then all your ways will be sure. Do not swerve to the right or to the left.

Turn your foot away from evil. Lord, thank you for wisdom and discernment so that we can know our distractions and avoid them. Thank you for giving us the strength so that we can overcome our weakness.

Help us, Lord, not to fall into the devil's trap of distraction.

All these we ask in Jesus' name, Amen.
