Deception can come through comfort

Today's Devotion, Deception can come through comfort. Be careful of the head that you are comforting on your shoulder because your kindness can become your weakness. In everything that you do, always ensure that God is your decision maker and not a spectator.

God commanded Samson through an angel to never drink wine or any fermented liquor, never eat anything unclean, and never cut his hair. Samson eventually violated all these vows. Disobedience comes with a consequence and if God tells you not to comfort someone with a hug, he knows why he told you not to do it.

A small fire can destroy a forest and hugging the wrong person who has a motive can be more destructive than you can imagine. The spirit of lust, the spirit of seduction, and the spirit of deception are heavily linked to the weakness of the flesh. The devil will tempt you with the lust of the flesh and this will open the door to the road of destruction.

This can destroy your marriage, your job, your family. It can destroy friendships and trust. Delilah used seduction and deception to bring about the destruction of Samson.

Lust is more than an action. It begins in the heart and must be taken seriously. In Matthew 5 verse 28 it is written, But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

And in 1 Corinthians 7 verse 2-3 it is written, But because of immoralities, each man is to have his own wife, and each woman is to have her own husband. The husband must fulfill his duty to his wife, and likewise also the wife to her husband. Heavenly Father, we come against every plot and plan of the enemy who are using deception to destroy relationships and marriages that you have joined together.

You said in your word in Psalm 101 verse 7, No one who practices deceit will dwell in my house. No one who speaks falsely will stand in my prison. Lord, save your people from lying lips and deceitful tongues, because the heart is willing but the flesh is weak.

Lord, give supernatural strength to those who are being pulled into the vacuum of sin, so that they will stand firm on your promise that you will never leave them nor forsake them.

All these we ask in Jesus' name, Amen.
