When the Tables Turn

Today's Devotion, When the Tables Turn. When God turns the table, the enemy is upset because they would prefer to turn over the table than to see the table turn. There are two things that God does with tables. He turns them, and He prepares them.

In Psalm 23 verse 5 it is written, Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies. Thou anointest my head with oil, my cup runneth over. God will remove you from tables that He is about to turn over, and He will remove your enemies from tables that you are about to sit.

In life we must always be humble. We live and we learn, because bridges will burn, and the tables will turn. Today you may have the handle, and tomorrow you may end up holding the blade.

Never allow anger to force you to turn over the table that God has prepared for you, because you cannot wait on the Lord. In Romans 12 verse 19 it is written, Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath. For it is written, Vengeance is mine, I will repay, saith the Lord.

My brothers and sisters in Christ, do not go out of your way to cause mischief. In Psalm 7 verse 14 to 16 it is written, Whoever is pregnant with evil conceives trouble, and give to disillusionment. Whoever digs a hole and scoops it out, falls into the pit they have made.

The trouble they cause recoils on them, their violence comes down on their own heads. Always remember that God does things His way, and we should not lean on our own understanding. In Genesis 50 verse 20 it is written, You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good, to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.

Heavenly Father, I come to you with my heart full of pain and anger, for the good that I have done, I have received evil. Lord, you know all, and you see all. Help me not to allow my emotions to get the better of me.

Help me to focus on the table you have prepared for me, and not what my enemy is doing. Lord, remove those who are around me that are trying to influence me to fight fire with fire, because when we are angry, wrong sometimes seems right. Thank you, Lord, for giving me the wisdom to pray my way out of my situation, instead of letting anger bury me into regret.

All these we ask in Jesus' name, Amen.
