Prepare for what you pray for

Today's Devotion, Prepare for what you pray for. Whenever we pray we must be specific in what we want. You cannot want two apples and ask God for the tree. Because when you have the tree, you may end up with more than what you can deal with.

And when the leaves start to fall, it will give you more work than you are prepared to do. A friend of mine rented a car and on his way to return the vehicle, it began to have mechanical problems. The renter car company was about three hours away and his house was two and a half hours away.

He began to pray and he asked God to take him home and as soon as he reached home, the car wasn't able to start. After calling me to tell me about his ordeal, I told him that God answered his prayers. It was he who chose the wrong location.

God can't supernaturally change things in an instant. If it wasn't for prayer, Daniel would have been devoured by the lions. Prayer doesn't work if it is not accompanied by faith.

In Matthew 17 verse 20 it is written, Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, move from here to there and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. A little bit of faith is way more powerful than a 40-foot container full of doubt.

Prayers can open doors and it can also close them. God doesn't forget your prayers. He will answer it when the time is right.

In Habakkuk 2 verse 3 it is written, For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak and not lie, though it tarry. Wait for it, because it will surely come. It will not tarry.

My brothers and sisters in Christ, even if God's plan seems slow, we must be patient because it will surely happen at the right moment. He who underestimates the power of prayer has no confidence in the power of God. Heavenly Father, help us to be disciplined so that we do not develop the habit of praying for what others may have, but instead focus on the things that we need.

Lord, we pray for those who are going through problems, sickness, spiritual warfare and all the challenges that life may cause, because we know, Almighty Father, that you are capable of fixing all our problems through prayer. In times of uncertainty, we seek your strength and guidance. You are our source of comfort and hope.

Grant us the courage to face challenges with faith. When fear overwhelms us, remind us that your promise is to never leave us nor forsake us. Help us to trust in your plan, even when we can't see the way forward.

Thank you for being our rock and fortress and our strength in times of trouble.

All these we ask in Jesus' name, Amen.
