Lord, help us to spend our time wisely

Today's devotion, Lord, help us to spend our time wisely. Time should never be wasted. It should be appreciated. Because once it runs out, we cannot get it back.

How we spend our time and where we spend our time can have a positive or a negative impact on our lives. If you spend your time around idlers, you will become worthless. Be selective with who you invest your time in because wasted time is worse than wasted money.

If you spend your time around people who see the importance of it, you will be inspired to invest it wisely. When you spend money, your bank account gives you a balance but when you spend time, you never know what your balance is. Because we never know when our time is going to be cut short because life doesn't notify us when our time is going to end.

If you are going to spend your life with someone, make sure that you can tolerate their bad habits because misery loves company. Time flies when you are around someone that you love and minutes seems like hours when you are around someone who you don't see eye to eye with. Time works closely with death and this is why we must find time to spend with God and ensure that our life is right so when death comes, we are prepared.

In Ecclesiastes 3 verse 1 to 2 it is written, To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose on the heaven, a time to be born, and a time to die, a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted. And in Romans 6 verse 25 it is written, For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Heavenly Father, we are living in a world with so many distractions and so much temptations.

Father, you said you are a rewarder of those who diligently seek you. Lord, help us to put your word first in every decision that we make, to pray continually throughout the day and remove every distraction that will pull us away from you. Lord, our time is limited and help us to live each day so that when death comes we are prepared.

Lord, we pray for our friends and relatives who are so caught up in the things of the world so that they will become closer to you and give you their life before death comes to take it away.

All these we ask in Jesus name, Amen.
