God doesn't tolerate idleness and laziness

Today's Devotion, God doesn't tolerate idleness and laziness. Jealousy sometimes comes with jokes but compliments that comes from a clean heart will never have an ulterior motive. An idle mind is the devil's workshop and when idle hands are working with an idle tongue it can create more damage than you can imagine.

The smarter you get the less you speak. Even though words are free, how we use them may cost you. Your mouth can block your blessings, know when to keep quiet.

An idle hand that doesn't want to earn an honest salary will take what doesn't belong to them. An idle tongue spreads gossip and reveals an ungrateful heart. Even though iron sharpens iron, you can't be sharp hanging around butter knife people because if you are a true child of God, not everyone can be your friend.

Idlers and true worshippers will never see eye to eye because one is encouraging you to do nothing while the other is ministering you to do something. The Bible warns us about idle words. We must shun profane and idle babblings for they will increase the more ungodliness, my brothers and sisters in Christ.

Idleness and godliness cannot sit at the same table because God will never compromise with the devil. In Proverbs 10 verse 4 it is written, Poor is he who works with a negligent hand, but the hand of the diligent makes rich. And in 1 Timothy 5 verse 13 it is written, At the same time they also learn to be idle as they go around from house to house, and not merely idle but also gossips and busybodies talking about things not proper to mention.

Heavenly Father, we come against the spirit of idleness. In Proverbs 19 verse 15 it is written, Laziness casts into a deep sleep, and an idle man will suffer hunger. Lord, there are occasions when we find time to do things that we enjoy, and when it comes to worshipping you before we go to sleep, we find it difficult to do because of laziness.

Lord, uproot every seed of procrastination planted in our heart and replace it with commitment, passion, and urgency to give you the praise that you deserve. Lord, we repent and we ask you to remove the spirit of laziness and idleness from us.

All these we ask in Jesus name, Amen.
