Today's Devotion, Lord, Increase Our Faith. Supernatural faith is a divine gift. It is based on believing God's word, even when it contradicts natural reality. First to know God we must be willing to trust Him when our situation may seem difficult, especially when the odds are against us.
Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm. Supernatural faith requires relying on God. When God's hand is on you, no amount of gossip or negativity can stop His will.
Surround yourself with people who encourage you, and they will tell you about their predicament and how God helped them to get over it, all because they did not open their mind to negativity. Supernatural faith comes from the positive things that we speak out of our mouth. Do not be misled by company corrupts good character.
Always remember that birds of a feather flock together, and eagles cannot hang around vultures. God wants us to be in relationships that build us up and avoid being around people who tear down others. In Hebrews 10 verse 24 to 25 it is written, And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another, and all the more, as you see the day approaching.
And in Matthew 8 verse 5 to 10 it is written, When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him asking for help. Lord, he said, my servant lies at home paralyzed, suffering terribly. Jesus said to him, shall I come and heal him? The centurion replied, Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof, but just say the word, and my servant will be healed.
For I am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, go, and he goes, and I tell one, come, and he comes. I say to my servant, do this, and he does it.
When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, Truly, I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith. Heavenly Father, we are seeking your divine intervention and strength for us to overcome doubt. Lord, increase our focus on you so that we are not distracted by our circumstances.
God, give us eyes to see, ears to hear, and a heart to receive your correction and your guidance, so that we will trust you regardless of how challenging our situation may be.
All these we ask in Jesus' name, Amen.
