Beware of the persistence of the devil

Today's devotion, beware of the persistence of the devil. You cannot have a lukewarm or a sometime-ish attitude when you are under spiritual attack. Persistency can win battles and moodiness can cause you to lose them.

This is why it is important to ask God to send you a prayer partner, someone with a kindred spirit, someone who can inspire you and bond with you in a positive way. The devil doesn't sleep. He is persistent.

He has no shame because if you rebuke him today, he may end up coming back tomorrow. He has a things-to-do list with an agenda and it is to kill, steal, and destroy. Evil doesn't take holidays and many of us allow our mood swings to cause inconsistency in our prayer life.

Instead of praying without ceasing, we sometimes only resort to praying when we want something. My brothers and sisters in Christ, never take dreams for granted. Never sweep it under the mat or put it in file 13.

I will always remember early one morning when a friend of mine called me and told me she saw me in a dream praying and the devil was standing over me. He said, I have sent several persons to destroy you and they all failed. Now I have to come and do it myself.

In 1 Peter 5 verse 8 it is written, Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy, the devil, prowls like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. And in 1 John 3 verse 8 it is written, Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil.

For the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. Heavenly Father, you did not give us a spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Lord, I break the powers of all curses, spells, hexes, charms, bows, incantations, jinxes, bewitchment, death, destruction, and everything that is not in alignment with your principles. I decree and I declare that they cannot prosper against me, my family, my business, or my finances. I cancel every wicked plan and scheme that the enemy is trying to use against me.

Lord, I thank you for restoring the things that the enemy has taken from me and the friendships that they have destroyed in the name of Jesus. I decree and I declare that you will surround us with your angels that will destroy every demonic influences and attacks.

All these we ask in Jesus name, Amen.
