Lord, Help Us to Remove Our Negative Thoughts

Today's devotion, Lord, help us to remove our negative thoughts. Even though we have started the challenging task of putting back the pieces of our island together, we are grateful to the countries and individuals that God has allowed to assist us in our times of need. Starting over isn't easy, especially for those who are retired, for those who are unemployed because the hurricane has deprived them of their livelihood, for those who have loans to pay and so many other things that have an impact on them moving on.

I have heard so many stories of neighbors helping neighbors, people risking their lives to save someone who they don't even know, and the kindness of total strangers to others who are in need. The sad reality is that our wealth and our achievements have a way of separating us, but a catastrophe has contributed to uniting us. Rome was not built in a day and 24 hours of happiness will seem short, but 24 hours of agony will seem like a couple of days.

Depression can feel isolating and overwhelming, but we can find comfort and strength in God's word, but the devil will put suicidal thoughts in the minds of many people. In Psalm 9 verse 10 it is written, those who know your name trust in you, for you O Lord do not abandon those who search for you. And in Psalm 55 verse 22 it is written, give your burdens to the Lord and he will take care of you.

He will not permit the godly to slip and fall. My brothers and sisters in Christ, commit everything you do to the Lord, trust him and he will help you. Heavenly Father, we come against the spirit of depression and those who are harboring suicidal thoughts.

Anxiety in a man's heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad. Lord, your children are in need of your help and I call upon you to remove every negative thoughts from their minds. In Jesus name, I come against the spirit of heaviness and anxiousness that is in them.

In Jesus name, Lord remove the spirit of suicide with a ray of hope and remove depression and increase our faith because you are the God of miracles. Lord, help us to be committed to you and we repent for all our sinful ways so that we can receive your grace and your mercy.
