Beware of the people who you choose that God doesn't approve

Today's devotion, beware of the people who you choose that God doesn't approve. I recently saw a news article about a 27 year old female who was found dead in a suitcase and it just shows us how wicked some people can be. Not everyone that we have around us and who claims to be your friend are worth keeping.

Life is too short to have people around you who will deprive you of your peace of mind. God doesn't just let people walk into your life by accident. He handpicks the ones who will sharpen your faith, remind you of your purpose and walk with you through every season.

They will stay with you during your storm and they will never abandon you during your challenges. Every person God allows in your life has a reason. There is a big difference between who God sends and who you choose because if God tells you to turn right and you decide to turn left, you must be prepared to deal with the consequences.

Don't cling to those who God is removing. Ask God to open your spiritual eyes to see people the way that he does. Even when it hurts, trust God because he knows who truly belongs and who doesn't.

Years ago while I was going through my challenges, I was praying and I asked God to remove anyone who is not genuine who claimed to be my friends and within one week he exposed two of my closest friends and even though it wasn't an easy pill to swallow, God showed me what I asked for. In Psalm 41 verse 9 it is written, Even my close friend, someone I trusted, one who shared my bread, has turned against me. And in Psalm 55 verse 12 to 14 it is written, If an enemy were insulting me, I could endure it.

If a foe were rising against me, I could hide. But it was you, a man like myself, my companion, my close friend with whom I once enjoyed sweet fellowship at the house of God. As we walked about among worshippers, my brothers and sisters in Christ, gossip is a destroyer of relationships and if anyone has the habit of bringing gossip to you, cut them off because the tongue that takes gossip to you will gossip about you.

Heavenly Father, we pray for those who have made decisions without your approval and are yet to see the consequences of their actions. Lord, we know that some people will learn more from consequences than they will learn from advice. Lord, help them by opening their spiritual eyes and let them see the importance in leaving all decisions to you instead of making decisions by themselves.

Father, help them to learn from their mistakes so that they will make choices that will be aligned with your perfect will.

All these we ask in Jesus name. Amen.
