Beware of the spirit of obsession

Today's Devotion, Beware of the spirit of obsession. Obsessive people can be very controlling. They are characterized as being persistent, intrusive, and disruptive.

This is why we should always pray and ask God to expose and remove people from our lives who are closer to the devil than they are to God. Even though obsession is not always negative, God will reveal those who are. Obsessive people will show you their true colors once you have a problem with them.

Obsessive people will watch you like a hawk, physically and spiritually. They will do it themselves or they will use nosy people to do it for them. While there are others who will use monitoring spirits and some of these monitoring spirits may come in the form of insects, birds, bugs, and other types of animals.

The spirit of obsession is ungodly and there are some people who are so jealous that they will kill you if they cannot get you while there are others who will monitor your movements to sabotage or use evil to destroy every relationship that you get involved in. In Psalm 119 verse 34 to 37 it is written, Give me understanding and I shall keep the law, yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart. Make me to go in the path of thy commandments, for therein do I delight.

Incline my heart unto thy testimonies and not to covetousness. Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity and quicken thou me in thy ways. Heavenly Father, we pray for those people who are entangled into obsessive relationships.

Lord, you came to set free those in captivity and because of fear they are afraid of walking away. Lord, we call upon you to make a way where there seems to be no way so that they can be set free. In James 1 verse 14 to 15 it is written, But every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust and entice.

Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin and sin when it is finished bringeth forth death. Lord, remove the spirit of obsession from our minds and the spirit of jealousy from our hearts so we can commit our thoughts in your hands.

All these we ask in Jesus name, Amen.
