Today's devotion, Do not be distracted by hypocrites. Hypocrites have been around when Jesus was walking the earth, and they will be around until the day of judgment. Gossipers are used by the devil, and hypocrites are endorsed by the devil.
Do not allow hypocrites to affect your relationship with God, because he will never accept that as an excuse why you did not commit your life to him. Hypocrisy is a sin, and you cannot let someone else's sin prevent you from getting your blessing. Nothing is as annoying as when someone expects you to be okay with something that they would not want to be done to them.
A honest sinner is more genuine than a lying hypocrite. It is better to be hated for speaking the truth than to be loved and appreciated by being a hypocrite. Many people bash the church because of hypocrites, and they end up walking away from the church.
Yet, they are still in their jobs working with hypocrites. They are members of groups that have in hypocrites, and they have partners who are hypocrites. The church is not a perfect place.
It is a place where imperfect people go to worship a perfect God. My brothers and sisters in Christ, God has a way of exposing hypocrites. All you have to do is to pray.
In Luke 12 verse 2 it is written, There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. And in Mark 7 verse 6 it is written, He replied, Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites. As it is written, These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.
And in Matthew 23 verse 27 to 28 it is written, Woe to you teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside, but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead, and everything unclean. In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous, but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness. Heavenly Father, help us to do a self-assessment.
And if the spirit of hypocrisy is in us, we ask you to remove it in Jesus' name. Lord, give us a pure and sincere heart like that of Jesus. If there is anything in our life that will cost us our place with you in heaven, please uproot it now in Jesus' name.
Father, let every hypocrite, pretender, and fake brethren in your church be exposed and disgraced, because it is better to be humbled than to end up in hell.
All these we ask in Jesus' name, Amen.
