Lord, thank you for your blessing

Today's Devotion, Lord, thank you for your blessing. Many of us want to receive God's blessing while we continue to enjoy the pleasure of living in sin. We cannot enjoy ungodly practices and assume that we will not have to deal with the consequences of our actions.

Some people are so busy counting the blessings of others that they don't have time to count theirs. Counting other people's blessings can lead to jealousy, ungratefulness and envy. Always remember that not everyone who is living a lavish lifestyle is being blessed by God.

The devil is a liar and those who are benefiting from him are liars too. They will tell you that God is blessing them but it's the devil who is providing for them because they will sell their soul in order to achieve their goal. My brothers and sisters in Christ, not because the grass may seem greener, on the other side that doesn't mean that it is genuine.

Even when things aren't going your way, do not envy anyone for what is happening in their life because whatever the devil is giving them is temporary but whatever God gives you is permanent. Give God thanks for the simple things and always find something every day to thank him for. To multiply your joy, count your blessings and refrain from adding up your problems.

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you falsely, say all kinds of evil against you because of me.

Heavenly Father, we come before you with a heart full of gratitude. Lord, remove the complaints and the jealousy from our heart and replace it with thanksgiving and kindness. Lord, for us to receive your blessing, let us be prepared to endure challenges.

Give us the strength to overcome them and thank you for the blessings that you have in store for us.

All these we ask in Jesus' name. Amen.
