Today's Devotion, God teaches us in different ways. God doesn't just allow people to come into your life by chance. He handpicked the ones who will sharpen your faith, remind you of your purpose, and walk with you in every season.
Some people are to push you closer to God because of their attitude. Some are there to teach you hard lessons, and it is through these hard lessons that you can be a mentor to others because of your experience. Some will walk with you for a chapter, and some are meant to stay for the whole story.
Every person God allows into your life has a purpose to stretch you, bless you, or protect you from something that you didn't even see coming. So do not cling to people who God is removing, especially when they are trying to force themselves back into your life. Do not overlook the ones who God has sent to bless you because good people are easy to lose and hard to find.
Discernment is a gift that we should ask God to bless us with. It improves our decision-making, and it provides us with insight and wisdom. It helps us to be able to see the true character in people and also those who are wearing a mask to cover up their evil ways.
In Psalm 32 verse 8 it is written, I will instruct you in the way you should go. I will counsel you with my eye, my brothers and sisters in Christ. This is God's promise to show us the right path when you are uncertain.
In 2 Timothy 3 verse 16 to 17 it is written, all scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness. Heavenly Father, show us your ways, Lord. Teach us your paths so that we can learn lessons and gain wisdom that no man can teach us.
Open our heart and mind to receive your truth and counsel. Lead us in the right direction so that we can walk according to your will. Open our spiritual eyes so that we do not allow the things of the world to distract us and mislead us, because it is better to be blessed through righteousness than to be blinded by worldliness.
Thank you, Lord, for teaching us so that we can in turn help others.
All these we ask in Jesus' name, Amen.
