Today's Devotion, Lord, help us to implement family rules. Where discipline and rules are not implemented, disobedience will take control. Parents, if you give a child too much rope, it may take you forever and a day for you to pull them in.
Because if you show them love and discipline is not enforced, embarrassment will take up residence in your house. The first rule that should be enforced in your family is to put God first. Because if you don't, the devil will take control through distraction and manipulation.
When you do not put God first, you lack the full level of God's favor. God doesn't force himself into our lives. We must invite him in.
We have the choice to follow him or go astray. In Romans 2 verse 9 to 11 it is written, There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil, first for the Jew, then for the Gentile, but glory, honor, and peace for everyone who does good, first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For God does not show favoritism.
The second rule is to be obedient to your parents or face the consequences of disobedience. In Leviticus 20 verse 9 it is written, For anyone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death. He has cursed his father or his mother.
His blood is upon him. My brothers and sisters in Christ, always be grateful and respectful. Do not be jealous of what others have because you do not know what they have done in order to receive it.
A thief will never introduce himself as a thief because his only regret is being caught. In 1 Thessalonians 5 verse 18 it is written, Give thanks in all circumstances for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not look down on others because of their circumstances.
In 1 Peter 2 verse 17 it is written, Show proper respect to everyone. Love the family of believers. Fear God.
Honor the Emperor, Heavenly Father. Help us to instill rules in our family because wayward children will create disobedient lives. Help us not to tolerate ungodly behavior such as malice, greed, selfishness and hatred because whatever we sow we will reap.
In Acts 20 verse 35 it is written, In everything I did I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
All these we ask in Jesus' name. Amen.
