Spiritual Incompatibility

Today's Devotion, Spiritual Incompatibility. One of the reasons why a believer will always find it difficult to have a relationship with an unbeliever is that they are spiritually incompatible. In Ephesians 4 verses 17 to 19 it is written, So I tell you this and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separate from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to the hardening of their hearts.
Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality, so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed. The unbeliever's mind will not be focused on God because they can't understand spiritual things. They refuse to believe God out of ignorance and stubbornness.
They see nothing wrong with living a sinful and promiscuous lifestyle. The woman on the side and the man on the side sees nothing wrong with the roles that they play. Some proudly brag about their relationship, especially when they are getting financial benefits.
The believer's mind will always be focused on God as they seek to better understand God's words. Their main objective is growing spiritually and hating sin as much as God does, and obey His commandments. My brothers and sisters in Christ, if an unbeliever is seeking a relationship with you, let them change their life to fit in to your godly lifestyle, and even when they do, ask God for His confirmation if their action is genuine or they have motives.
Never stray into sin to prove your love to anyone, because if you are choosing the sinful lifestyle, you are walking further into darkness, away from God's light. Your heart can be deceived, but they will never be able to fool God. Once it is a part of God's plan, nothing can change what God has arranged.
Ending your relationship with God because you want to be in a relationship with someone is a risk that you cannot afford to take. Seek ye first the kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you seek. Heavenly Father, the devil will use anything that he can to cause us to backslide and go back to a sinful life all because we start following our heart and stop abiding by Your word.
The heart cannot see, and many times we become so blind to reality that we end up living in sin all because of the flesh. There are times that loneliness and boredom will let us make decisions that we will regret. Give us the wisdom and the strength not to walk away from righteousness to go back into a sinful lifestyle.
Lord, we thank You for wisdom, we thank You for understanding, and we thank You for the knowledge that will let us always be grateful to You.
All these we ask in Jesus' name, amen.
