Today's Devotion, Lord, protect us from the enemy. If God did not forgive sinners, heaven would be empty. We may pray to God to change our situation so that we can change our attitude.
But there are times we are inconsistent and sometimes God will put us in situations that will change us. In 2 Timothy 2 verse 22 it is written, Run away from the evil things that young people long for, try hard to do what is right, have faith, love and peace. Do these things together with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.
Self-assessment can lead us to spiritual development because once we know what is right, we must refrain from doing what is wrong. In Psalm 37 verse 18 to 20 it is written, The blameless spend their days under the Lord's care, and their inheritance will endure forever. In times of disaster they will not wither, in times of famine they will enjoy plenty.
But the wicked will perish, though the Lord's enemies are like the flowers of the field, they will be consumed, they will go up in smoke. Woe be unto those who indulge in destroying the lives of others, they are more focused on doing evil, and they refrain from partaking in good. In Isaiah 30 verse 1 to 2 it is written, Woe to the rebellious children, declares the Lord, who execute a plan but not mine, and make an alliance but not of my spirit, in order to add sin to sin, who proceed down to Egypt without consulting me, to take refuge in the safety of Pharaoh, and seek shelter in the shadow of Egypt.
My brothers and sisters in Christ, you cannot be a true worshipper and have a close friendship with evildoers. Heavenly Father, you said in your word, Do not be yoked together with unbelievers, for what do righteousness and wickedness have in common, or what fellowship can light have with darkness?
Lord deliver me from my enemies, O my God, defend me from them that rise up against me, deliver me from the workers of iniquity, Lord for my kindness they have given me wickedness, and I turn to you for my protection from their evil plans, Lord reverse the curse and let the wicked fall into their own nets while I escape safely, thank you Lord for your guidance, love, wisdom and protection.
All these I ask in Jesus name, Amen.
