Be careful of the crowd that you follow

Today's Devotion, Be careful of the crowd that you follow. A man who leads the orchestra must turn his back on the crowd, and a man who wants to live a life of righteousness must be prepared to stand on his own. It takes nothing to join the crowd, but it takes everything to be strong enough to stand on your own.

A lie doesn't become truth, wrong doesn't become right, and evil doesn't become good. Peer pressure is pressure that we put on ourselves because we want to fit in. This is why we must be wise and find friends who can appreciate us for who we are, so that we can walk in the path of righteousness.

In everything that we do in our life, we must always apply wisdom. I recently saw a picture of a boy walking with a bag on his back, and the word dunce was written boldly on it. The meaning of dunce is a person who is slow in learning, a stupid person, an ignoramus, a moron, a lame brain, a nincompoop.

Not because it is a slang that is used by the crowd. It doesn't mean that you must follow the crowd because of ignorance. Even though we are free to make our own choices, there are times that our choices can bring curses into our lives.

In Exodus 23 verse 2 it is written, you must not follow the crowd in doing wrong. When you are called to testify in a dispute, do not be swayed by the crowd to twist justice. And in Romans 12 verse 2 it is written, don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.

Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Heavenly Father, help us to be wise in everything that we do and open our eyes not to love the world or the things of the world. Because if anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

Lord I pray for our children because there are some of them that will fall into the wrong crowd because they want to be liked and appreciated. Protect them Lord from the bad influences whose aim is to lead them astray. Open their eyes to the words that they use to describe themselves that come in the form of slangs because their ignorance in speaking these words into their lives is doing more harm than good.

Thank you Lord for saving them so that the devil doesn't take advantage of them.

All these we ask in Jesus name, Amen.
