Today's Devotion, Lord, help us to arrange our priorities. When your priorities change, the things that you do will change. To change your life, you need to change your priorities.
Your life changes when you know your true priorities. It is important to schedule your priorities in a proper sequence. Never put what should be last first and what should be first last.
If you prioritize worldly passions over your health, you may not live to enjoy your wealth. I am not referring to money. I am referring to wealth given to you by God.
Your generation can benefit from God's wealth and they can be punished by His anger. In Exodus 20 verse 5 it is written, You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me. If you commit your life to God and your priorities don't change, you need to do a self-assessment.
Sometimes God will take you on a journey so that He will teach you how to arrange your priorities. I remember leaving my house without asking Him for traveling mercies, and just as I realized, someone ran into the back of my van. What shocked me was even though the impact was intense, my van was not damaged.
In 2 Corinthians 5 verse 9 it is written, So we make it our goal to please Him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. In Matthew 6 verse 19 it is written, Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. Heavenly Father, help us to arrange our priorities so that we do not make the wrong choices.
In 2 Timothy 2 verse 22 it is written, So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. Lord, we sometimes are guilty of putting our priorities over Your priorities. Forgive us for the things that we have done that wasn't pleasing to You, and we call upon You to remove our priorities that will mislead us and replace it with the ones that will pull us closer to You.
All these we ask in Jesus name, Amen.
