Today's Devotion. Lord, open our eyes to our spiritual gifts. God has blessed us with different spiritual gifts.

These spiritual gifts are not for personal gain but to serve greater good of the body of Christ. Beware of those who use God's gifts to take advantage of his people. The devil does not give genuine spiritual gifts but rather counterfeit or gifts of darkness.

That are designed to destroy. He is good at twisting divine gifts to lead people away from God. Demonic gifts are used to steal peace, joy and spiritual focus that can lead to personal ruin or living a sinful life.

False prophecy is a destructive gift that can mislead people. God's gifts are free but the gifts of darkness always come with a high destructive price. In John 10 verse 10 it is written, the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.

I have come that they may have life and have it to the full. Your spiritual responsibility to God is not to lose focus, not to be lukewarm and not to pray conveniently. In first Corinthians 12 verse 8 to 11 it is written, to one there is given through the spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same spirit, to another faith by the same spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.

All these are the work of one and the same spirit and he describes them to each one just as he determines. Heavenly Father we thank you for the gifts and calling that you have placed in us. We submit each gift and talent to you.

Help us Lord not to use your gifts to do things that are not pleasing to you. Lord we call upon you to put a hedge of protection around our spiritual life preventing anything from blocking our ability to do your work. We thank you for discernment and remove every distraction so that we do not lose focus.

Thank you for opening our spiritual eyes so that we will ensure that we should use your gift for your glory and to encourage others.
