Today's Devotion. What are the benefits of being a child of God? Building a relationship with God is a process and in order to go through the process, you must be obedient and you must have a forgiving heart. Once you are a child of God, you will have peace of mind.
In 2 Corinthians 13 verse 11 it is written, Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice. Strive for full restoration. Encourage one another.
Be of one mind. Live in peace and the God of love and peace will be with you. My brothers and sisters in Christ, some people want to receive the benefits but they don't want to make the sacrifices to be a child of God.
Once you are a child of God, He will let your enemy become your footstool. In Psalm 110 verse 1 it is written, The Lord says to my Lord, Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet. If you uphold malice and unforgiveness, you will never be a child of God because He is not going to change His ways to accept your ways.
In John 15 verse 5 it is written, I am the vine, you are the branches, whoever abides in me and I in him. He it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. Do not be influenced by ungodly people because God's ways are not their ways.
In Proverbs 16 verse 4 it is written, The Lord has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble. A child of God knows the importance of having faith and they apply wisdom to every decision that they will make. In 2 Chronicles 20 verse 17 it is written, You will not need to fight in this battle.
Stand firm, hold your position and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them and the Lord will be with you.
Heavenly Father, as children of God, open our spiritual eyes for us to be aware of the things that we should do and the things that we shouldn't do. Because once we obey all your commandments, we will inherit eternal life. Lord, give us the strength not to yield to temptation, and remove every distraction that the enemy has set for us.
In John 2 verse 17 it is written, The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.
All these we ask in Jesus name, Amen.
