Today's Devotion, Lord, protect your children. Even though we are not birds, if God didn't clip the wings of some of us, many would have flown straight into hell, all because they love being around people who are known to be a bad influence. The company that you keep can determine where you sleep.
It is better to be alone than to be in bad company, because bad company has caused people to end up in prison, and in some cases, it has sent them to an early grave. Associate yourself with people of good character, because doing good can open the door to your blessings, and doing bad, even if you are living a lavish lifestyle, can open the door to eternal damnation. Parents Find time to know your children's friends, especially those who they are close to, and if it is possible, know their parents as well.
Evil parents can have an influence on their children. It's either they are saved or unsaved, righteous or unrighteous, clean or unclean, holy or unholy, a child of God or a child of the devil. My brothers and sisters in Christ, there is a difference between loving a child and spoiling a child, because tough love can protect them, but spoiling them can destroy them.
In 2 Timothy 2 verse 19 it is written, Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription, The Lord knows those who are his, and everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness. Heavenly Father, we pray for the parents who are extremely busy providing for their family. Help them to find time to focus on their children so they are not influenced by negative-minded friends.
In Deuteronomy 11 verse 19 it is written, You shall teach them to your children, talking to them when you are sitting in your house, and when you are walking by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. Lord, we thank you for destroying the friendships that will lead them astray. In Psalm 103 verse 13 it is written, As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.
Lord, give our children wisdom to recognize unhealthy friendships, and give them the courage to walk away from situations that will embarrass their family.
All these we ask in Jesus name, Amen.
